News from Missionary Jason Holt in Chile

This week’s Youth Conference has the Filling the City as the theme.  As a ministry, our goal is to fill this city with the doctrine of Christ, with local Bible preaching churches, and with wholehearted followers of Jesus.  Pray that God will use my pastor, Austin Gardner, as he preaches God’s Word and challenges the young people to give their lives for the service of our King.

Out first service is this Wednesday evening.  Be praying with us that God will do great things!  We are excepting greats from God and attempting great things for Him.

There are 3 BIG ways you can invest in the ministry in Chile this month!!

1. The Chile Baptist College received funding for the first half of 2010 – praise the Lord!! But, we are in desperate need of partners for the remaining 6 months! Would you consider giving a one time gift or a monthly donation to this exciting project? Read about how our students are being used of God to reach people with the gospel.

2. Next week we are launching a website – http://buscandorespuestas.com.  We have a plan to mass publize this site to reach literally thousands of young people with the gospel.  We need two HD video cameras to record more video content to continue reaching people via the internet!

3.  During the past year, our family has lost financial support.  We know it’s been a very difficult economic time for many people, and we are thankful for so many that continue to invest faithfully in our family and ministry.  If you are not already giving, would you consider making a monthly commitment?

This week a 29 year old man accepted Christ at the new church! The guy who lead him to the Lord was saved at our church about 2 years ago and the following year was called into the ministry last year!! It’s thrilling to see our “son” in the faith give birth to new disciples!

Also this week, another man who is preparing for the ministry at our church conducted his first Lord’s Supper. This might now sound like a big deal to some, but it was a huge step for him to preach the message, administer the Lord’s Supper, and close the service.

There are few things that make me as proud as seeing my “children” walk in the truth!

For those who read our post about the English classes earlier, we had 59 people sign up for the class!!  We are praying that many of these people will give their lives to Christ!! Pray with us about this exciting opportunity.

We have English class registration at the new church TONIGHT!!  Be praying that God will use this ministry to reach many with the gospel!!

Back in October of last year, we started a Bible study once a week in an area of Santiago where there is currently no Bible preaching church.  Our goal was to transition the Bible study into a church in the near future.  Well, that time has arrived!! This week we are having our first Sunday services!!

A team of guys from our ministry will be leading this new church plant!!!

One of the things that excites me most about Jason Kenney’s new church plant is the Caro family!!  God called Vladimir Caro to the ministry from our church in Chile!  Last year Vladimir began preparing for the ministry in the Chile Baptist College.  He and his family will be assisting the Kenney family with the launch of the new church.

Vladimir is our first guy to leave Iglesia Bautista Fe (Faith Baptist Church) to help with a church-planting project!  He will continue studying full-time at the Bible college as he gains practical ministry experience in the ministry!  Please be praying for this wonderful family as they take this huge step of faith.

This week we take another step towards the goal of evangelizing Chile!  My dear friend Jason Kenney is starting Iglesia Bautista Esperanza (Hope Baptist Church) in Santiago, Chile.  We are so excited to see how God has blessed this wonderful family as they have learned the language, adapted to the culture, and are now planting a New Testament church!!

Every time a church is planted in Chile, we all get closer to the goal!  When one has a victory, the whole team benefits!
