Ivan Chacon

I was born in Lima, Peru in 1975. Five years later, I went to a Baptist church for the first time with my uncle. After that I lived with the image or thought of the pastor in my mind. Finally at the age of 22, I went for the second time to a Baptist church, the Hunter Baptist church of Arequipa. I accepted Christ the following year. Bro. Austin Gardner was my pastor then.
In 1999, God called me to preach. I did not want to be in the ministry because I did not think I could be rich being a pastor. For two years I avoided God’s calling until finally God got my attention when I broke my foot. God broke my will, and I surrendered my life to him.
In 2001 I began to study in the Peru Bible College. I finished my studies in 2004. While I was studying, I was also Children’s and Youth Pastor. In 2005, I spent six months in Montevideo, Uruguay as a temporary Co-pastor in a Baptist Church that needed some help.

The next year, God lead me to Santiago, Chile where I am now working with Jason Holt in the ministry. Together we have the plan to train young men and start churches throughout Santiago and Chile. God willing, I plan to spend many years in the mission work in Chile.
