Adoniram Judson – An American Hereo

Today marks the 159th anniversary of the death of America’s first foreign missionary, Adoniram Judson.  At the age of 25, Adoniram left for the shores of Burma to preach the wonderful news that we are celebrating this Easter Sunday.

By the end of his life on earth, he had translated the Bible into Burmese and established over 100 churches with more than 8,000 faithful converts following Christ!

This Easter, pray that God will call more men and women to give their lives to reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ!

While preaching in R.I. a couple months ago, we visited Plymouth, Ma. In the cemetery overlooking the town are the graves of the Pilgrim fathers and other historical figures. Among these graves is a stone slab memorial to Adoniram Judson and marker for the the grave of one daughter. It was really amazing. There are other great pieces of history there for those who spend the time. Hope all is well with your ministry. Joe Davis
