Jason’s Testimony

Though I was raised in a pastor’s home, I did not accepted Christ as my Savior until the age of sixteen. During the following two years I grew in my faith. At the age of 18, I knew God was clearly calling me into the ministry.

During the summer before my freshman year at Crown College, I visited the mission field for the first time. That month in Mexico sealed God’s leading to foreign missions and planted a love for the Spanish

speaking people in my heart. While finishing my degree, I was given the opportunity to study for the mission field, on the field. I spent 6 months in Peru with veteran missionary Austin Gardner. During those months, God called me to the neighboring country of Chile.

Lori’s Testimony

Unlike Jason, I was not raised in a Christian home. At the age of 14, I attended church for the first time where my uncle serves as pastor. After the church service, my aunt shared the Gospel with me and I accepted Christ as my personal

Savior. I was baptized the next Sunday and was excited about my new beginning. But due to a number of circumstances, I did not attend church, read my Bible, or grow in Christ. Five years after my conversion, I surrendered my life to Christ and began living completely for Him. Several months after that decision, in a missions conference in our local church, God gave me a desire to serve Him in foreign missions. While in college, I took missions trips to Ghana, Peru, and Chile.

Jason and Lori met while preparing for the ministry at college. They were married and 13 months later left for the mission field with Katie, their 4 week old baby! Since arriving to the field, God has blessed them with two boys, Joshua and Andrew.

Ministry

After spending two years learning the language and culture in Peru, the Holts arrived to Santiago, Chile in early 2005 to began in the ministry.

Church planting

Shortly after arriving, they made plans to launch Faith Baptist Church. What started with a Bible study with a lady and her two children, has now grown to a thriving autonomous congregation of well over 150 people.

In 2010, with Chilean pastors we had trained from the first church, we planted two more churches. It is thrilling to see new believers grow to maturity and strive to reach their own people with the gospel.

Chile Baptist College

As men surrendered to preach, we quickly saw the need to prepare them for the ministry. In 2009, we started the Chile Baptist College to train young men and women for the work. Currently, we have 8 men preparing full-time for the ministry. The young men are taking 16 hours of classes a week in the mornings while gaining practical experience in the evenings soul-winning, discipling, preaching, and teaching.

All three of the churches are being pastored by one of the men we trained.
