Welcome to a description of the Vision Baptist Intern! Thank you for your interest in serving the Lord Jesus Christ through the ministry of Vision Baptist Church and the Our Generation Training Center. The Vision Baptist Internship provides an opportunity to experience day-to-day life in the Lord’s work while working on a variety of tasks and projects.

In addition to normal church and office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, volunteer at special events, participate in tours, and contribute to world evangelism projects. Vision Baptist Internships are unpaid positions and participants are responsible for arranging their own transportation and housing (you can get help in the church office).

We invite you to apply. Please read over the Intern Application and the Vision Baptist Ministry descriptions carefully. Ministry descriptions can help you determine your areas of interest and assist you in making an informed decision about which ministries might fit your qualifications. Interns will be selected based on their application and demonstrated interest in spiritual service.

Applicants must be:

At least 18 years of age on or before the first day of the internship
An intern maybe a recent graduate from high school, a college student between semesters, or a recent college graduate.

Completed application materials must be submitted to Trent Cornwell, Intern Coordinator in the offices of Vision Baptist Church, at trent@bcwe.org.

Upon acceptance, candidates must consent to a background check prior to their start date. All background checks are confidential and intended to protect the intern as well as the ministry of Vision Baptist Church.

10. Narrative Question Two: What would you contribute to the Intern Program?

Our Story

Since arriving in Chile in 2005, God has allowed Jason Holt and his family to start three churches and a Bible college in the capital city of Santiago.  They are passionate about preparing young men and women to reach Chile with the Gospel.  Each of the young churches is now being pastored by men Jason has prepared.  One of those pastors is Nicolas Mazzella.

Several years ago this once agnostic liquor salesman could have never imagined the transformation that was going to take place in his life.  Months after seeing the change God had brought in his wife and children’s lives after accepting Christ as Savior, Nicolas came to the feet of Jesus too. Now, four years later, he is pastoring the Iglesia Bautista Omega (Omega Baptist Church).  It’s amazing to see this man who once was destroyed by sin now lead a growing congregation of new believers. 

Our Need

Since this church was planted about 18 months ago, dozens of people have been saved by God’s grace.  The community building they rent 2 days a week for church activities is no longer adequate for the growing church.  

As they began to pray about this need some months ago, God led them to an ideal piece of land at a bargain price!  But land is very expensive in this densely populated capital city.  They still need over $40,000 to buy the property and build a small building.  Please pray with them that God would supply this need in the next few months.

Within a few minutes of our first post this morning about the Chile Baptist College budget need, we have our first committed partner!!  This $30 a month commitment means we are up to 14.5% of the 2011/2012 monthly budget.  Praise the Lord!

Let’s continue to pray that God will lead others to help us train national pastors in Chile.

Several years ago we started the Chile Baptist College to provide academic preparation and practical ministry training for young Chilean men and women.  Thus far we have 8 men studying full-time for the ministry in the CBC!  Next year several more are praying about entering the Bible college.

We help provide work scholarships for men who work 40+ hours a week in the ministry in addition to their studies.  That means, these guys are putting in long hours studying and serving in church-planting ministries!  It’s exciting to see how God is using them to see people saved virtually every week.  Just this week 5 souls were saved through the ministries these students lead.

We desperately need sponsors who can partner with us and this ministry.  Our current budget is $900 a month. We have 11% of this year’s budget reached!  If only 27 people would give $30 a month, we would meet the 2011/2012 budget.  You can help today by pledging a one time gift or monthly support.  All gifts are 100% tax deductible.

A dear supporter of the ministry was led to generously give $500 to funding the 2nd phase of the Land for Churches in Chile Project.

There was also an offering given by a group of young people at a camp I spoke at a couple of weeks ago.  I will update you on that amount soon!
