Our Missions Conference ’10 wrapped up this week in the main church in Santiago, Chile. The Chilean christians increased their projected annual missions giving to just over $8,000 dollars!! It’s fantastic to see them assuming their responsibility to reach their country and the world with the gospel. They are currently supporting missionaries in Chile, Argentina, Peru, and Morocco. God willing, tomorrow we will take on another missionary to Ecuador!

Imagine this… just over 5 years ago, Faith Baptist Church didn’t exist. Today, there are 7 men training for the ministry from the church, two daughter churches have been planted (actually the first services for the 2nd daughter church are scheduled for Sunday December 12th – more info in future post), $8,000 dollars annually is being sent to support other missionaries, and literally scores of families have been radically changed by the gospel!!

God has done some pretty amazing things during this first term in Chile!

Just imagine, with God’s favor, where the ministry could be in 5 more years! That thought encourages me enough to keep moving forward despite any trial or difficulty!!

All of this is possible only because you have given! You have given monthly to support our family. You have faithfully prayed for our ministry. You have invested above and beyond our wildest expectation to purchase land for churches and to support the Bible college ministry. WE COULD HAVE NEVER DONE IT WITHOUT YOU! Thank you so very much!!

Ten years ago I was on Christmas break from my freshman year at Crown College! I don’t know how to start to explain how awesome the last ten years have been for me!! Here are a few of the highlights of this decade:

- 2000 I spent 6 months in Peru that completely changed forever my way of viewing missions.

- 2002 I finished Bible college!!

- 2002 My Dad went home to be with the Lord. I miss him tons!

- 2002 Our first child, Katie, was born in December! Being a father was been an ENORMOUS privilege and joy!

- 2002 We finished deputation by the end of the year.

- 2003 Left for language school in January.

- 2003 Lori and I finished language school at the end of the year.

- 2004 We spent time gaining experience with Austin Gardner in Peru.

- 2006 That year was filled with hard work and much prayers as we grew the church.

- 2007 Andrew was born in January. I love them all! Couldn’t imagine life without them!

- 2007 The Kenney family joined us in the work in Chile.

- 2008 The Mcbryar family arrived a few months after the Kenneys to study the language as well.

- 2009 We joined Vision Baptist Church, and now we are sent out of that great church.

- 2009 We officially started the Bible Institute in Chile

- 2009 We started our second church plant. So far we are only having one service a week in the new work.

Nearly 6 months ago while sitting in their living room, I led Pedro and his wife Mauren to the Lord. Since then, they have both been baptized and are becoming more involved in the church. Weekly we meet in their home for discipleship classes. By God’s grace this young couple will continue growing in the Lord! Please pray for this couple and their 3 children.

What a privilege God has given my family to be a part in a life change ministry!

Also, you’ll notice a Catholic church in the top right hand corner of the picture. This “church” is only about 100 yards from our new property. Please pray for the millions that are in spiritual darkness in Chile. We need God to work miracles to see them come to know Him.

In the fall of 2005, Alejandro reluctantly visited our church for the first time with his wife (they are not actually married, but they have been living together for over 6 years, and they have a 3 years old daughter). At the time he was a staunch atheist. His wife, who was catholic, was much more open and accepted Christ as her personal Saviour two weeks later. During the next year, Alejandro and his wife attended our church almost every Sunday morning. Little by little God worked on Alejandro. In the fall of 2006, he finally accepted Christ as his personal Saviour.

Since then, God has completely changed this family! Instead of spending the weekends going to clubs and getting drunk, they are getting more involved in their relationship with God. They also plan on getting married within the next month or two! It is so exciting to see God heal lives that have been damaged by sin! What a thrill to be used by God and to see Him change lives!

Now this 27 year old young man is helping with much of the construction project.

We always have fun while working!
