The Land for Churches in Chile Project has naturally developed into a 3 part plan – downpayment, building, and final payment.

Originally back in September 2010, we asked you to pray with us about land for one of our recent and growing church plants.  From then on, we began to pray for $75,000 dollars to purchase property, as we searched high and low for the best deal.  God has opened the door for us to buy an ideal piece of property in a fantastic location (more about that to come) for a total of $70,000!!  *Notice we are $5,000 under budget, which is always a good thing.

Here’s a break down of the 3 part plan:

1. Phase 1 – the downpayment – During Phase 1, God sent in $25,360 through many of our faithful supporters.  We are using these funds for the downpayment of the property!  In just a few more days we will have full use of the property!!  Phase 1 is finished!!!

2. Phase 2 – the building – Although we will have complete access to the property in a few more days, there is currently no building on the land.  It will be difficult to fully utilize the property without a building, especially since we are entering the winter months in Chile.  During Phase 2, we need to raise only $11,000 for the building!  By the way, this $11,000 is not in addition to the total cost of $70,000… it’s part of it.

If God provides the funds for this phase during June, we will start building in July!  Pray with us for another miracle during the next 5 weeks!  Who would be the first to give?

3.  Phase 3 – the final payment – During this phase we will need to raise the additional $33,640 to reach our total goal of $70,000.

This week we started a semester of evangelistic English classes at Life Baptist Church.  We were praying that God would send us at least 80 people for the class… over 160 signed up!!!!  Pray with us that many of these precious people will be saved in the coming months!

I am thankful that Kyle Sheridan will be leading this outreach ministry.  Kyle is a great young missionary who has been in Chile for the past 6 months.  He speaks the language proficiently and has a passion for church planting and souls.  In May he will be returning to the states to get married and raise additional support.  I highly recommend you considering him for support.  For more information about Kyle and his ministry, write him at kylepsheridan@aol.com

Next week we are hosting our 3rd annual Vacation Bible School.  This is always a great time to see God save and change the lives of many children.  This year our focus is missions.  We are having a guest missionary from Africa, China, and India visit each night… we’ll the actual missionaries will not be present, but one of the guys will be representing them!  We have chosen Hudson Taylor, David Livingstone, and William Carey as our guest missionaries!!  Pray with us that God will call Chileans to take the gospel to Africa and southeast Asia!

1. Let our children adapt to American culture, language, and life.  Katie was 4 weeks old when we left for language school, and the boys were both born in Chile.  They have never been back to the USA for any extended time.  During our furlough we look forward to them attending a Christian school and our home church.  They will also occasionally accompany me on trips to visit churches.

2. We earnestly need to raise $1,000 of monthly support to replace lost support we’ve incurred during our 6 years term in Chile.  As the ministry has grown, our monthly support has decreased… that’s not a good combination!  If you would like for our family to present the ministry in your church, contact us at holt@biblicalmissions.com or 770-456-5614.

3. Many of our supporting churches have sacrificially given for years to our ministry.  We want to visit as many of these precious churches as possible to thank them for their kindness and tell them of the progress in the ministry.  If you are one of our supporting pastors who would like us to visit and give an update about the ministry, please send us an email or call – holt@biblicalmissions.com / 770-456-5614.  Unfortunately, it will be virtually impossible to visit all of our supporting churches in this shortened furlough, but we hope to visit as many as possible.

Of course this time will also serve as a great opportunity for the three churches we have planted in Chile to grow under the leadership of Chilean pastors.  We are looking forward to how God will use this time to forge stronger men and women of God.
