After yesterday’s post about the need to buy church property for new churches in Chile, God has provided our first donation of $100.00! We are now one step closer to a local church effectively reaching their community with the gospel.

Pray with us that God will provide our second investor for this church-planting opportunity! I will update you later today if we have confirmation of a second donation.

Bible Study is now a church!

Back in October of last year, we started a Bible study once a week in an area of Santiago where there is currently no Bible preaching church. Our goal was to transition the Bible study into a church in the near future. Well, that time has arrived!! This week we are having our first Sunday services!!

A team of guys from our ministry will be leading this new church plant!!!

Easter Play

Our church has been preparing an Easter play for several months. Tonight and tomorrow night we’ll be presenting the play. Pray that God will use this event to bring many people to a personal relationship with Him!

Church Planting Prayer Request

Our church is banding together today for 24 hours of prayer. We are asking God to give us wisdom about two church planting projects…

First, we need to rent a permanent location for the mission church. This would allow us to add an additional weekly service and children’s ministries. Pray that God will lead us to the right location!

Second, we are planning to plant a new church about 2 miles from our main church. Let me explain the reasons for this decision. Within a 10 minute walk of our main church live more than 40,000 people! Over 80% of our congregation walks to church. Very few of those families walks more than a mile! Just two miles from our church lies another unreached, untapped population group that needs a local Bible preaching church!! We are praying that God will lead us to a building to rent, give us the right leaders for these projects, and provide the needed funds to launch into the deep with these two projects simultaneously!

Pray with us! Our 24 prayer chain starts this evening at 7:00 pm and ends tomorrow at the same time!

Outreach around the new church

Tonight our church is preforming a Christmas play in a park near the mission. We are praying that more than 50 people from the neighborhood will be present! At the end of the play, I’ll be presenting the gospel.

Less than $2,000

We need less than $2,000 to finish the construction project for the new classrooms! Many have generously given to support this urgent need!

This week we started building the children’s classrooms and offices at the church! We started by faith with the money God has provided… we’re praying that He continues to provide soon so we can finish before the end of January!

More time!

The owner of the rental house where we currently have all of our children’s ministries has agreed to give us until the end of February to leave the house! This will give us a few more weeks to build the classrooms on our property!

During the next 3-4 weeks, we have to start construction to have everything finished in time! Pray that God will provide the remaining funds needed for this cause.

3 instead of 1

While developing our plan to start another church in Santiago this fall, we have considered dozens of different launch strategies. It’s a monumental task to plant a cross-culture church in a metropolitan city, and even more so if you are still working full-time in the first church! These are the questions and prospects that we have been wrestling with since the beginning of the year.

But, what if we started 3 new works instead of just 1??? Sounds like a crazy leap of faith… but maybe just what God wants!

I’m not talking about starting from day one fully developed, autonomous, independent churches – but three mission churches. These missions will meet in borrowed facilities for one service a week until the core group grows. The Chilean leaders of the missions will evangelize and disciple people in unreached areas of Santiago. Chileans reaching Chileans! That IS the goal!

Pray for our ministry and church as we plan to put this project in motion during August, September, and October. We still need to raise start-up funds for chairs, church signs, printed material, etc.
