Also this week, another man who is preparing for the ministry at our church conducted his first Lord’s Supper. This might now sound like a big deal to some, but it was a huge step for him to preach the message, administer the Lord’s Supper, and close the service.

There are few things that make me as proud as seeing my “children” walk in the truth!

One of the things that excites me most about Jason Kenney’s new church plant is the Caro family!!  God called Vladimir Caro to the ministry from our church in Chile!  Last year Vladimir began preparing for the ministry in the Chile Baptist College.  He and his family will be assisting the Kenney family with the launch of the new church.

Vladimir is our first guy to leave Iglesia Bautista Fe (Faith Baptist Church) to help with a church-planting project!  He will continue studying full-time at the Bible college as he gains practical ministry experience in the ministry!  Please be praying for this wonderful family as they take this huge step of faith.

As most of you know, Chile is on the other side of the hemisphere.  In South America we’re in fall… as you North Americans enter Spring.  Because of the earth’s tilt, you guys enjoy warmer weather and longer days as we enjoy (yes, I enjoy cold weather!!) the cold and shorter days.  Because both the USA and Chile use daylight savings time, for half the year we are 2 hours ahead of EST and half the year we have the same time as EST.  I know, it’s kinda odd!

This weekend, we “fall back”.  So for the next 6 months we’ll be on the same hour as EST!

Today we got word from some of the hardest hit areas of Chile around the city of Concepcion.  People literally do not have water, bread, food, and in some cases a roof over their heads.  There are people living in one of the local churches because their homes are no longer standing.

To help in the incredible need, we plan to travel from Santiago to Concepción on Thursday morning (in less than 32 hours) with a team of eight men to accomplish two goals:

1. We plan to distribute over 40,000 gospel tracks to those who are suffering and need the hope of Christ.  As God gives us the opportunity we will preach the gospel on the streets and in local parks.

2. We’re also taking food and medical supplies to help many who are suffering through this tragedy.
